Campus Climate Areas of Focus
Overview
In December 2024, the Campus Climate Task Group (CCTG) was convened to identify University-wide goals rooted in findings from the spring 2024 Belonging and Inclusion Campus Evaluation. Over the course of four months this past spring, CCTG reviewed survey outcome data and developed nine University goals, leveraging the expertise and knowledge of the committee:
Employees
E-1: Accommodations (Disabilities)
Clarify policy and practice related to disability-related work accommodations.
E-2: Compensation and Job Classification
Articulate Wake Forest’s compensation strategy for both faculty and staff and create transparent compensation structures to support that strategy.
E-3: Grievance Process and Resolution
Clarify grievance options available to employees by utilizing various communication mechanisms.
E-4: Performance Reviews
Improve evaluation processes for faculty and staff that are both consistent across populations and designed to be a useful and helpful evaluation tool for employees and supervisors.
E-5: Professional Development and Training Opportunities (Managers)
Enhance pathways for professional development and related training for those in supervisory roles for staff and faculty.
E-6: Promotion and Advancement
Explore options to support faculty and staff who are seeking advancement in their professional careers at Wake Forest.
E-7: Recruitment
Refine our established non-discriminatory search practices for faculty and staff to help promote access and opportunity for all future employees.
Students
S-1: Bias and Discrimination Experiences
Evaluate established bias, discrimination, and harassment systems, policies, and procedures that apply to students to help create greater clarity regarding reporting options, processes, and outcomes.
S-2: Social Life and Culture
Create additional co-curricular and social activities that increase awareness and understanding across all students.
